Our Mission

Beyond Perception, Inc. will assist in family and counseling services, reading/literacy, academic tutoring, computer classes, youth outreach, mentoring, scholar programs, abstinence education, physical fitness, health and wellness, mountain biking, cycling, and adult education programs.

Our Impact

In 2021, one in five Texas children lived in poverty and researchers found that food insecurity affects more than 10 percent of underrepresented children. Food insecurity is a symptom of economic insecurity. For families where parents have to work two or three jobs, the children are forced to be left alone. What we realize is that most of these children have never been given the opportunity to challenge themselves mentally and physically. They spend the majority of their time sitting in front of a television or playing video games. With substandard education and exposure to domestic abuse, there is a need for family service organizations which can guide our children to success. Beyond Perception, Inc. aims to reduce these statistics one child at a time.

Research shows physical activity improves mental health.  In fact, there is an article published by The Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice which clearly states, “Physical activity has been demonstrated to improve self-esteem, self-acceptance, self-concept, and self-efficacy, along with reducing amounts of reported depression, anxiety, tension, and stress (including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)”.  Furthermore, the article also provides research which proves aerobic exercise at certain intensities reduces anxiety levels.  We believe the company and the mountain bike activities will provide opportunities for children to achieve these aerobic activities needed to improve their mental health.

“The definitive factors in determining whether someone is in good health extend significantly beyond access to care and include the conditions in their life and the conditions of their neighborhoods and communities.”
